Free Printable Spring Mini Book

I really wanted to create some sort of Spring themed activity pack, but it just seems like there are already so many of those out there. Finally I got the idea to make a mini book! I mean, what kid doesn’t love to have their own little book? Besides, I figured this would be a fun (and free!) thing to put in an Easter basket.

The first time you make an 8 page mini book, it might seem a little complicated. But once you’ve made one you’ll see how easy it is and you’ll be a mini book making pro.  🙂 I made my first mini book for my Phonics Pirates printables. (If you haven’t seen Phonics Pirates, you should really take a look. It took me almost 2 years to finish and I just love it!)

If you’re stuck on making the mini book, watch this YouTube video – it might help make it a bit easier to understand.

Here’s a preview of all the pages in the spring mini book:

I hope you like this mini book! I’m excited to see my girls’ faces when they get to “test” them out in the morning!

With love,

Christy

How To Print & Assemble The Mini Book:

Print the pdf file in Adobe Acrobat Reader. On the print dialogue, choose the option “Actual Fit.” If you have a printer that can print small margins, it should print out perfectly.

TIP: Click the “Print in grayscale” box  if you don’t want to use color ink.

To Assemble:

1.Print the page on regular paper as cardstock will be too thick to fold. If you end up with a margin, trim around the entire book. Try printing the page Actual Fit in Acrobat for a tighter margin.

2.Fold the paper  hamburger style with printed side facing out.

3.Make a cut halfway down the middle of the page.

4.Open the paper, then fold hot dog style printed side facing out.

5.Hold each end of the “hot dog” and push them slightly together. You will see the paper form a diamond on the inside. This should be enough for you to see how the pages fold. Crease all your folds really well and you’ll have an instant 8 page mini book!

Stuck? Watch this YouTube video  and it should make it pretty clear.
